Dear friend,
Now what? That’s the question that comes following Easter Sunday. We have seen Jesus alive. We have worshipped at His feet. We have celebrated His victory over death. We have proclaimed Alleluias. Now what?
We tend to observe Easter as a conclusion, a culmination, a final act. And it is in regard to Lenten observance and in fulfilling the prophecies of Messiah’s death and resurrection.
Yet it really is only the beginning. The beginning of rising to life. The beginning of a new presence in the world. The beginning of fresh possibilities. The beginning of devoted discipleship directed by the Holy Spirit.
Since Jesus has liberated us from sin and death and brought us to share in His everlasting life, it is always a new day dawning.
In Christ,
Pastor Heckmann
