Dear friend,
We made it to the last Sunday of Easter yesterday, and what a delightful seven weeks it has been. We have been worshipping our risen Savior and learning more and more of what He has to teach us. We have joined the Biblical witness of His ascension to the right hand of His Father. Now we await the glorious return of Christ and the consummation of all things according to God’s eternal purpose. And perhaps closer in time, this coming Sunday is the celebration of Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Wear Red!
This week also brings us a concluding session of GracePlace on Wednesday. We will be taking a look at how the Holy Spirit moves in the church today. It should be a good study and discussion of where Bethlehem could be headed in the months ahead. Church leadership decided to take a break from the weekly gatherings for the summer, so after this finale you can anticipate a restart in the fall. Until then, occasional fellowship events are possible—you should consider hosting one! Terry and I are inviting everyone to our Tyler home on Wednesday, June 10, with all the details available at church.
Podcasts of Sunday Scripture and sermon should be in working order now on the church website. You can access the most recent service on Tuesday, and it would be really good use of this resource to share the link with people you know who might benefit from hearing the truth of God’s love.
In Christ,
Pastor Heckmann
