On Saturday, May 17th, Bethlehem Lutheran Church joyfully hosted the LWML Spring Event, bringing warmth and fellowship to all who participated. We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this special occasion.
JoAnn Tugwell, our BLC LWML President, opened the event with a welcoming spirit, alongside Cindy LaPardi, the Zone President. With attendees from our community, we had the unique opportunity to learn about local needs from two remarkable organizations.
Pastor Seth Davidson led us in devotions, worship, and prayer, filling the day with spiritual reflection and unity.
We heard from the Orphan Grain Train Houston Branch, an organization that selflessly distributes aid along the Gulf Coast Region. They provide essential supplies like water, clothes, hygiene products, and medical resources, in loving response to Christ’s calling to serve those in need.
The Crisis Center of Anderson and Cherokee Counties shared their mission to build lives free from fear. They focus on providing resources, tools, and advocacy for victims of family and sexual violence. The Center began as a women’s shelter, but has since expanded to assist men, women, and children affected by family violence and sexual assault, offering a comprehensive approach based on evidence-based best practices.
We are grateful for the opportunity to come together as a community, deepen our faith, and learn about the impactful work being done to uplift those in need. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a true success, embodying the spirit of service and love.
