Celebrating Holy Week Together

Maundy Thursday–God’s Banquet, Matthew 26:17-20

The annual observance of Christ’s institution of Holy Communion, this night takes us to the Upper Room and the Last Supper. As we remember Jesus’ loving example of humble service in washing His disciples’ feet, we ourselves are “re-membered” by His body and blood given and shed for us and now shared in the Sacrament.

Good Friday–The Great Sympathizer, Hebrews 4:14-16

We journey to the cross for an up-close look at the real nature of Christ’s suffering and sacrifice in our place. Jesus was willing to endure every physical and spiritual torment, even rejection by His Father, in order to win our salvation. Whatever we encounter in life and in death He also knows and understands, and remains our faithful Savior.

Easter Sunday–Afraid yet Filled with Joy, Mathew 28:1-10

The first disciples were eyewitnesses to the event that changed everything. The risen Christ has overcome death! Easter morning was a stunning experience even for the believers, as they responded to the reality of a new creation. Today we still might not comprehend everything about the Resurrection, yet joy in Jesus and life with Him is our present and eternal destiny.
