Dear friend,
What a tremendous occasion it was yesterday to rejoice, give thanks, and sing about God’s amazing grace through 80 years of Bethlehem Lutheran Church! It was wonderful to see a number of past members at the church again. It was a blessing to have Pastor Bergman take part in the worship service. And, of course, the banquet was truly a feast of food and fellowship. Everything was planned and fulfilled with excellence and joy, so credit to those who contributed and all glory to God.
If you were in attendance, I am sure you have been energized with faith and confidence for what still lies ahead for the church. If you were not in attendance, I recommend you come this Sunday and get your shot of energy for faith and confidence in the risen Christ. All whom God has called for this time and place can join hands for strength in the Lord’s mission.
Somehow, probably through sheer dint of effort, the church’s new electronic message board was up and running for the Anniversary celebration. Many thanks to Perrin Roller and a team of dedicated workers for seeing it through to completion. Now you have something to look for every time you are on that side of the Loop!
Continuing with Sunday’s theme:
I am Jesus’ little lamb,
Ever glad at heart I am;
For my Shepherd gently guides me,
Knows my need and well provides me,
Love me ev’ry day the same,
Even calls me by my name.
In Christ,
Pastor Heckmann
