The Fruit of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23
“In the Bible, Galatians 5:22-23 teaches us that as we become closer to God we start to show traits of a better heavenly version of ourself. The traits that we get are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. When you have all of these you are the human Jesus taught us to be like.
Through my confirmation I have gained a few of these traits and have become closer to God. Some of the things I picked up was peace and joy. Before football games and track meets me and any normal person will be a little nervous but when I remember or say to myself that I have God on my side and pray I felt way more confident in myself.
I learned to have better self-control. Last year, teachers thought I was a bad kid, but I was really just bored and trying to make people laugh. I didn’t think about how it made it harder for the teacher to teach and for other students to learn. Now I know I should be more respectful and selfless, and think about how my actions affect everyone.
The next thing I learned was faithfulness, as I looked at the world and people around me I saw sadness, struggle, and stress. Everyone is worried about rude people, grades, money, and what people will think about them and they lost sight of what really matters, faith. Faith will help you though the struggles though the hard times though the rude people and if your faith is strong enough then it will spread. if you walk up to those same people that are in a dark place and spread the word that god loves you then tell them all about how following him helped you and made you stronger, then maybe, if you do it just right, that person will take the same journey that you took and spread the word to someone else, and to the next person, then it just goes on and on and on just because you spoke up.
I’m not done yet i still have a long way to go, many more years of faith many more lessons to learn many more fruits of the spirit to gain and to get even closer to God”
