Supporting Our Community, One Can at a Time

At Bethlehem Lutheran Church, we believe that serving our community is one of the most important ways we can share Christ’s love. This past January, we had the privilege of supporting the Humane Society of Anderson County through their aluminum can collection effort, which benefits their medical fund for shelter animals.

Thanks to the dedication of individuals and organizations throughout the community, including our own congregation, a record-breaking 517 pounds of aluminum was collected! That’s 38 large bags of cans that will go directly toward helping animals in need.

We are honored to have been mentioned alongside other wonderful contributors, such as Grace United Methodist Church, Cayuga High School students and staff, Bird’s Egg Café, and generous community members like Vic Smith. Together, we made a meaningful impact, demonstrating how small efforts—like saving and donating aluminum cans—can truly make a difference.

This initiative serves as a reminder of how we, as a church, are called to support and uplift our community. Whether through partnerships with local organizations or finding new ways to lend a helping hand, Bethlehem Lutheran Church remains committed to service and compassion.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us make this possible. Let’s continue to seek out ways to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.
